Sorry, but Muslim disinformation artist Rauf is using his platform to push half-truths. The American Founding Fathers were Islam ignoramuses, but lived under the reality that Muslims in the Barbary Coast would regularly capture infidel British and American ships and sell their crews into slavery and/or force them to pay jizya, Sharia's punishment tax for being an infidel, and finally declared war on them and sent in the Marines, causing their hymn to contain the words "to the shores of Tripoli". Many of the Founding Fathers came to hate and detest Islam and Muhammad after they had the time to study and let the intolerance and supremacy sink in, and realized that the Muslim "pirates" or "barbarians" were actually following Sharia.
As to John Adams, in a letter to his friend Thomas Jefferson dated July 16, 1814, he calls Muhammad "a military fanatic" who "denies that laws were made for him; he arrogates everything to himself by force of arms." In the preface to his copy of the Quran he wrote: "This book is a long conference of God, the angels, and Mahomet, which that false prophet very grossly invented; sometimes he introduceth God, who speaketh to him, and teacheth him his law, then an angel, among the prophets, and frequently maketh God to speak in the plural... Thou wilt wonder that such absurdities have infected the best part of the world, and wilt avouch, that the knowledge of what is contained in this book, will render that law contemptible."
Rauf wrote: "In Islam, sharia is the divine ideal of justice and compassion, similar to the concept of natural law in the Western tradition. Though radicals exist on the fringes of Islam, as in every religion, most Muslim jurists agree on the principal objectives of sharia: the protection and promotion of life, religion, intellect, property, family and dignity. None of this includes turning the United States into a caliphate."
Duh, when Rauf says divine he means Allah, the god who comes complete with a final prophet who alone tells us his words in the Quran - thus this paragraph is loaded and deceptive. The "divine ideal" of Sharia is that the Quran is the absolute truth, and all who resist it are doomed to Hell, and not fit to rule the world while alive. In short, the Quran doesn't just tell Muslims how to live, but demands them to rule the world in Allah's name using Muhammad as the perfect example, and that makes it an archenemy of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, period.
Don't waste time with Rauf when everybody can take my free online Islam history course and master all the key facts and see Islam's real murderous track record of respect for our values in country after country. The recent murders of U.N. personnel in Afghanistan over Terry Jones' Quran burning show the cult up for what it is, and there's nothing Rauf can do to spin it. Congress must declare a moratorium on Muslim immigration now to protect the People from endless horrors that come out of the Qurans they will be packing.
