The Ground Zero Mosque has never been about anything but staking out the American continent as the site for the next great victory for Islam and its horrible Sharia legal and social system that makes Muslims superior to non-Muslims in all ways. The very name Cordoba Mosque is meant to link it to the Muslim conquest of Spain that foisted Sharia there for 800 years, during which time Jews and Christians were relegated to third-class status and their rights trampled mercilessly. In 1066 the Jews of Granada were murdered just because they were doing so well they threatened to attain equality. Therefore this mosque is a horrible affront to the U.S. and its Constitution, and always will be, and will likely result in bloodshed one day, so why not stop it now before it's built, and build it far away from Ground Zero so that it loses its symbolic power. Muslims who claim that Islam is a religion of peace don't mention that Islam's idea of peace is Sharia, to attain which any amount of violence is acceptable to Allah.
Americans suffer from a school system that has failed them in history education, and they just don't know about Islam's history since the 7th cent. of using fear and violence to spread the territory ruled by Sharia, the rest being incidental to their minds.
