The right to freedom of religion is indeed guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, but the govt. may regulate where houses of worship can be built, and that's all that the dispute is about. Too bad, Mayor Bloomberg is beginning to become a dhimmi, or non-Muslim who submits to Islam's superiority as it systematically sets up Sharia that makes all other religions 9th class with virtually no rights at all. Under Sharia, a Christian church may not display a cross, ring church bells, or even be repaired. Jews must walk in the gutters and wear special clothing to make them identifiable from a distance. This was all done in Spain for 800 years until the Christian monarchs finally threw the Muslims out in 1492, the year that Columbus discovered America - talk about symbolic. The point for Muslims is that the Ground Zero Mosque must be built at Ground Zero and be named Cordoba after the 800-year Spanish occupation, else they wouldn't seek to make it a super mosque costing $100 million. Billionaire Bloomberg just doesn't get it because he doesn't know history.
