It's becoming clear that the only reason Afghanistan, Iraq and other Islamic nations want the U.S. there is to pay what they call jizya, or a punishment tax decreed by Allah on all infidels for being allowed to live, i.e., not attacked by jihadists. Our fantasy that we've converting them into secular semi-infidels and giving them the aid they need to join the Western democracies will prove ridiculous when the U.S. troops move out of Afghanistan and the mullahs move in and set up Sharia, thanking Allah for all that great U.S. infrastructure. If we want to stay, we have to take the children from the parents to break the cycle and give them a secular education sans Quran and mosque, and only let them choose a religion if any once they reach 18-21. Otherwise, why stay? Are we nuts? Meanwhile the real threat of a nuclear Iran ticks away. In all three countries we should only invade, catch the bad guys and/or dismantle the bad facilities, force a regime change as best we can, then force them to pay for our services with their oil or other resources with interest so we don't waste a penny, then pull out, threatening a return if they get pesky again. Skip the nation-building part, puhleese. We don't need to conquer a Muslim nation that has no intention of giving Islam up and then pay jizya to it like what they call dhimmis or subdued infidels. http://historyscoper-islamwatch.blogspot.com/
