It's Darwinian Evolution. Sooner or later a religion of the sword had to come along and survive because it's the fittest. The word religion means to bind together, i.e., create an artificial herd out of people via some ideology, and in this case it's the ultimate ideology of not only being ready to die for the faith but to kill for it. Muslim pundits can philosophize all they want about "true" Islam and how it doesn't condone jihadist terrorists like the Boston Jokers, but in the Quran Allah sure seems to, take 5:33 for instance. That one text justifies all the jihads we've seen from 9/11 on, when read with religious fervor. None of the pundits stopped them in advance, I wonder why? No, I wonder why the pundits bother. One day the non-Muslim world must unite and declare belief in the Quran a world crime, especially the teaching of it to children. I know this seems to go against everything civilization stands for, but that's just it, so does the Quran, so it's two scorpions in a bottle, there's only room for one in the end.
