Yes, after invading and conquering helpless lands and setting up Muslim superiority Sharia, sometimes Muslims translated captured Greek manuscripts on Science and actually advanced them a bit, but the Muslim pop. always hated and feared scientists as potential heretics, and they could only work at all under the protection of a powerful ruler, and even then they were under constant scrutiny of religious leaders for signs of infidelity, putting a burden on them that slowed them down to a crawl. And that only lasted until a movement took over the Islamic world that God was above reason itself and that Science is pointless because cause and effect are an illusion and God makes everything happen by his will. At that point Science became kaput in the Muslim world, and there's little or no change today as long as Sharia continues in any form. So instead of kissing Saudi King Abdullah's feet, Pres. Obama would do better to work to make Sharia a world crime and oust all Sharia countries from the U.N.
