Sorry, but when it comes to Islam, Jimmy Carter doesn't know goober beans. His cheery belief that it's all about Israel and that if it weren't for their fascist govt. there could be peace in the Middle East is a colossally wrong take on Islam, which from day one commanded all believers to expand the territory ruled by its horrible Sharia by fear, force, and violence, and never give back one square inch, ever. Until the Jews moved in all Arab lands were interchangeable, and were ruled by the Ottomans anyway, which the Allies helped the Arabs break away from during WWI. Carter needs to face that the only way for there to be peace in the Middle East is either for the Jews to go, for the Muslims to go, or for Islam to go. Instead of trying to mix the unmixable, he might consider the more promising option of resettling Palestinians in other Muslim lands such as Egypt.
